Out with Packaging!
When you purchase a new item, dispose of the packaging material that came with it. For example, tubes of toothpaste can be stored out of their boxes, in a basket. Boxes from electronic items or small appliances should be stored flat and saved just until the return or warranty period ends. In the kitchen, packets of dry soup mixes and seasonings can be stored in clear plastic bins. Eliminating packaging saves space. It also cuts down on insects, as they are attracted to the glues in the boxes. In moist or humid areas, damp paper packaging can also retain odors.
